Permanent Outdoor Lighting in Frankfort and Mokena, IL
Set it once. Bears orange on Sunday, warm white on Monday, holiday red and green in December.
Frankfort and Mokena are family neighborhoods full of newer homes with big rooflines, busy weekends, and no spare Saturday to spend on a ladder. Permanent lighting fits that life. The channel goes up once, the house is lit every evening, and switching from everyday warm white to game-day colors or the holiday scene takes a tap on your phone.
Why permanent lighting fits Frankfort and Mokena
The newer subdivisions off LaGrange Road and Wolf Road were built with a lot of roofline: two-story fronts, multiple gables, a three-car garage, and a covered entry. That is a lot of strand to hang every November and pull every January, and a lot of ladder on a house where the kids have soccer on Saturday and you would rather be at the game. A permanent LED system puts a clean channel under the eave once, and then the house is simply lit. Warm white on an ordinary school night. Bears orange and navy on a Sunday in the fall. Red and green from Thanksgiving to New Year's. Purple for a birthday. All from the app, with nothing to hang and nothing to store.
It also solves the real problem with holiday lighting in the southwest suburbs, which is not November. It is a January ice storm and a roof nobody should be on.
Built for Illinois ice
A freezing rain event glazes everything on the outside of a house, and a hanging strand is the first thing to fail under the weight and the wind behind the front. A permanent system does not hang. The channel is fixed to the fascia, the nodes are sealed inside it, and there is nothing for the ice to load or the wind to lift.
- Low-profile aluminum channel mounted to the fascia or soffit and color-matched to the trim
- Individually addressable LED nodes sealed inside the channel and rated for freeze-thaw and sustained cold
- Weather-sealed power and data connections at every junction, so meltwater does not trip a circuit
- Sunset timers and schedules so the house is lit when you pull in from work
Nothing is hung or removed seasonally, so there is no handling wear and nothing to take down in an ice week.
No holes in the house
Most Frankfort and Mokena homes have aluminum fascia wrap, vinyl or composite trim, and seamless gutters, and nobody wants any of it punctured. The channel mounts to the fascia or soffit with fastening matched to the material, so there is no corrosion and no visible hardware, and it never attaches to the roofing. The channel is color-matched so it reads as a trim line from the street. If the system ever comes off, the trim is intact. The same no-holes rule applies to our seasonal holiday lighting, which is clip-mounted and never stapled or nailed.
Team colors, done right
This is the part Frankfort and Mokena homeowners ask about first, and it is where a permanent system earns its keep. Every node is individually addressable, so the house can run a two-tone Bears pattern on the roofline, Cubs blue or Sox black on the garage, Blackhawks red for the playoffs, and go back to warm white the next morning on a schedule. We program the scenes you want before we leave and show you how to build new ones. The house looks like a fan's house on game day and like a nice house the rest of the week.
Designed for the house you actually have
Every permanent install starts with a walkthrough. We measure the main roofline, the gables, the garage, and the entry, and we talk through what the house should do on a normal night versus a holiday or a game. Lighting every edge of a busy roofline usually looks cluttered. Lighting the right edges looks finished. From there we cut the channel runs to length, set node spacing for even light with no hot spots, and program your first scenes before we leave: everyday warm white, a holiday scene, a game-day scene, and anything else you want saved.
- On-site walkthrough and design
- Channel runs cut and matched to your rooflines, gables, garage, and entry
- Addressable LED nodes with app control, sunset scheduling, and saved scenes
- Power placement planned around your existing exterior circuits
- Scene programming and an app walkthrough before the crew leaves
- Support from a local southwest suburban crew, not a call center
Commercial and HOA installs in Frankfort and Mokena
The same system scales to the downtown Frankfort storefronts along Kansas Street, the Mokena and New Lenox retail corridors, and HOA entrance monuments and clubhouses across Will County. Commercial installs are scheduled around business hours, programmed for the property's own calendar, and serviced on the same no-additional-charge basis. See our commercial lighting page for that side of the work.
When to install, and where
Any season with a dry roof. Spring and summer installs are common in Frankfort and Mokena because the crew has long days and no competition with the holiday route, and the system is simply ready when football season arrives. Fall installs work too, as long as they land before the first ice. If you are reading this in October and want it lit for the holidays, call us and we will tell you honestly whether the calendar can hold it. If not, we can put up a seasonal display this year and move you to permanent in the spring.
